Question:
I’ve been gaving great success with the Bates method of vision improvement. It’s dead simple and involves no surgery. If you look around in your local area you should be able to find someone teaching the method. They might not but probably will mention Dr Bates’s method. The advertising I’ve seen usually says "Natural Vision Improvement". David : : Has anyone had the new PRK method? : Hi there, friend, : I manage an ophthalmologist’s office. My doc has been mulling over : getting trained in PRK for quite a while. : It looks much better than the older RK with fewer complications. : However, if you saw the PRK segment on ABC’s 20/20 several months ago, : they made it look as easy as getting your nails done! Their patient : could immediately read the eye chart while she was still on the table, : etc. This is pretty rare. Bear in mind that the recuperation period : is often up to one year. : I’m not saying to not do it, but you owe it to your eyes to do as much : research as possible and not just anecdotal. Read a LOT and ask a LOT : of questions of your ophthalmologist, because corneal problems can be : devastating if you develop complications. My doc’s main problem is : that he promised to do no harm and so he has difficulty with the idea : of operating on a healthy eye. They’re the only eyes you’ve got! : Good luck in your search. Hi there, friend, I manage an ophthalmologist’s office. My doc has been mulling over getting trained in PRK for quite a while. It looks much better than the older RK with fewer complications. The last two sentences represent my sentiments as well. The issue of PRK and RK and all the new refractive surgeries (yes, there are at least 5 different procedures under investigation) are frequent topics for discussion at sci.med.vision. I’d suggest you lurk there for a while, and check recent postings by appropriate search engine. Regards, Larry Good luck in your search. Love, Barb
